Apple Unveils iPad mini : 7.9 inch, Dual Core A5 CPU, 10 Hour Battery Life


Apple announced the all new iPad mini. . The 7.9-inch display has the same 1,024 x 768 resolution as the iPad 2, extremely thin form factor of just 7.2mm and light weight of 0.68 lbs and 10-hour battery life!

It features a dual-core A5 chip, the latest Lightning connector, 5MP back camera andFaceTime HD front camera as well as 2x faster WiFi and the same aluminum back as seen on bigger iPads. If you are saddened by the older A5 CPU and the non-retina display, you’d be happy to know that the iPad mini will come with LTE support.


Since the iPad mini’s screen has the same resolution as the iPad 2, all existing iPad apps that work on the older iPad 2 will work on the iPad mini without any need for developers to make modifications to their existing apps.

iPad mini starts at $329 for 16GB WiFi only model as compared to $199 for 8GB WiFi only version of Nexus 7. Prices then go up by $100 for the 32GB and 64GB variants, and if you want LTE, it’ll cost you at least $459.

Pre-orders for the iPad mini will start on Friday, October 26, with the Wi-Fi models shipping on November 2 and the cellular models starting to ship two weeks later.

Apple has also introduced new polyurethane iPad mini Smart Covers in six different colors, priced at $39 each.
